Ladies, are you ready? Do you need some motivation to start running? Do you have any friends who are in that boat? There is a great local non-profit who can lend a hand. And a fellow FCRC member, Stacey Pitcher, project manager at Running Start is ready to tell you more.
Some background — Running Start helps women overcome a life barrier by pairing each beginner with a personal motivator. They work together over 12 weeks to complete the beginner’s first 5K together.
From Stacey:
We are currently looking for beginners and personal motivators. Applications are open (women only). We recognize that FCRC members are already runners. They may be interested in becoming personal motivators and we are hoping they will share this amazing program with any women that may be looking to start a journey toward running.
The picture you see is of me and some fellow beginners and personal motivators. My mom was a beginner this year at age 70 after beating breast cancer!
It is free to apply and if chosen there is a $15 commitment fee. The program runs early March – June 2nd at the Colorado 13er 5K Run in Louisville. Thanks for all you do! I love the FCRC!!!

Applications for the 2019 Running Start Program are OPEN!
We are seeking 120 women along the Front Range who feel STUCK; women who have a barrier that they just can’t get through, but they know they want to change their lives.
Former Beginners say, “This program truly changed my life. I was on the fast track to an early death,” and, “My Personal Motivator believed in me before I believed in myself.”
Applications are also open to women who already understand the power, confidence and freedom of running. Personal Motivators support their Beginners thru the training, and are there to cross that first finish line with them! Personal Motivators are not elite athletics, coaches or therapists, they are runners and walkers that know the magic of women supporting other women.
