This year, FCRC is introducing a Competitive Racing Team. Below find a timeline and details about the program. Note: You must be a FCRC member to apply.
PURPOSE
The goal of the racing team is to encourage competitive performance, recognize talented runners within the club (who may be competing at a high level while juggling a full time job/families/life), and in doing so, increase the visibility of the running club at races.
TIMELINE
April 11: Team tryouts (signup here)
April 17: Applications open
May 7: Applications close
May 8: Invitation e-mail sent out
May 15: Deadline for accepting invitation to join
RACE & VOLUNTEER REQUIREMENTS 2021

Represent the club in at least 4 races, one of which must be FireKracker 5k, Horsetooth Half, or Resolution Run

Volunteer for at least 2 club events, one of which must be a club race including tortoise and hare. Participation in a committee will fulfill the full requirement.

SELECTION CRITERIA & TERM

We ask that all members achieve a minimum 70% age graded performance (you can check your performance here) during the qualifying window from January 1, 2019 through application close on May 7, 2021. Tryouts are optional and you are able to submit any race(s) that achieve the qualifying standard during the qualifying window.

The team cap is 26 members: 13 men and 13 women

Should qualified applicants exceed the number of available slots, selections will be made based on age graded

Selected team will be active through the end of 2021, but will have to re-apply for 2022 at which point, all future teams will have yearly terms
