Movie Night/Gifted Feet Kick-Off

Join us on Thursday, September 29th at 6pm at the Lyric, Fort Collins. It is Movie Night and the 2022 Gifted Feet Kick-Off!

At this event, you’ll get to see the movie/documentary ‘Free to Run’, which covers the 2021 TOR450 race, a 450k (280mile) race with 32,000 m (105,000ft) in elevation gain. Also at the event will be one of the female Afghanistan runners mentioned in this race, Zeinab.

After the movie, hear from Zeinab about her training, her motivations, and her current studies at CSU. What do these include? Empowering women and girls impacted by conflict through sport, particularly in her home country. She initially focused on helping women in her country learn to use running and training to empower themselves, but with the Taliban regaining control last year, her focus has shifted to education and freedom for the things most women take for granted in the western world.

FCRC has partnered with her for this year’s Gifted Feet program. All money raised will go directly to her charity, She Can Tri, to help Afghan girls by supporting an all-female underground school and other Afghan women in need.
Find out more about Zeinab on on her website  and She Can Tri.

*The screening is free, but donations through the Gifted Feet Fundraiser or to her Go Fund Me campaign are more than welcome.
