Fall Run-Off – #FCRCcleanup

3rd Annual! Kicking off October 7th will be our Fall Run-Off, encouraging FCRC members to get out and explore new trails while running with new friends.

Sign Up Today!
Teams of up to 6. Individual sign-ups welcome. See link for more details.
You can add team members at any time during the month, up to the limit.

You’ll again earn points for picking up garbage throughout your run and together FCRC members will make Fort Collins SPARKLE. Can we beat last year’s record totals of 1564.4 miles and 684(!!!) bags of trash?

We’ll be awarding bonus points for visiting (and cleaning up) City Natural Areas and Larimer County Parks.

After kicking-off at the October Tortoise & Hare, the fun begins the next day and runs through Sat, Nov 2nd. Winning teams will be announced at our Nov TnH.

Train for the Firekracker 5K with Fort Collins Running Club!

The second session of Fort Collins Running Club training programs, RunningU will kickoff on April 22nd at 8am at the North Side Atzlan Rec Center.  See more info on the Facebook event.

It’s a Zero to 5K program designed to encourage, empower and take away all of the anxiety of running your first 5k or getting back to running. We’ll also feature an Intermediate Plan for those looking to improve their 5K time.  The training plans lead up to running the FireKracker 5K on July 4th.

Edora Park Tortoise & Hare Recap

Yesterday’s Tortoise & Hare race could be summed up in one word… COLD! With a sudden drop in temperature combined with a brisk wind there was an extra motivation to get running and warm up. Luckily no fingers or toes were lost. All in all, we’ve been pretty lucky so far this T&H season with good weather. Three years ago 5 of the 7 T&H races had single digit temps. Brrr…

Congrats to all 152 finishers! Results and series standings can be found here.

Runnovation 2018

Do you have a great idea that would improve/promote/inspire the running community in Fort Collins? Have you ever said “if I had the money I’d do this…”? Or “I wish_____”? Here’s your chance! Fort Collins Running Club is offering award money of up to $10,000 for club member projects that further the FCRC mission.

This will be the 2nd year FCRC awards a Runnovation Prize. We wanted to get the word out now so you can get your creative juices flowing. This year submissions will be accepted March 1-May 1. You can learn more about the Runnovation Prize and see submissions from last year on our website.

The FCRC board was able to hear an update from last year’s winner Yvonne Kullberg. We’re excited to hear the progress being made with Nerd Training Program. It’s sure to make the nerdiest of nerds excited and ready for the Kessel Run 5K next May.
