Edora Park Tortoise & Hare Recap

Yesterday’s Tortoise & Hare race could be summed up in one word… COLD! With a sudden drop in temperature combined with a brisk wind there was an extra motivation to get running and warm up. Luckily no fingers or toes were lost. All in all, we’ve been pretty lucky so far this T&H season with good weather. Three years ago 5 of the 7 T&H races had single digit temps. Brrr…

Congrats to all 152 finishers! Results and series standings can be found here.

Do you have a great idea that would improve/promote/inspire the running community in Fort Collins? Have you ever said “if I had the money I’d do this…”? Or “I wish_____”? Here’s your chance! Fort Collins Running Club is offering award money of up to $10,000 for club member projects that further the FCRC mission.

This will be the 2nd year FCRC awards a Runnovation Prize. We wanted to get the word out now so you can get your creative juices flowing. This year submissions will be accepted March 1-May 1. You can learn more about the Runnovation Prize and see submissions from last year on our website.

The FCRC board was able to hear an update from last year’s winner Yvonne Kullberg. We’re excited to hear the progress being made with Nerd Training Program. It’s sure to make the nerdiest of nerds excited and ready for the Kessel Run 5K next May.

Edora Park Tortoise & Hare 8K – Feb 4, 2018

Registration is open for the 5th T&H of the season! With a late January T&H this means you only have a few weeks to get registered for the next race on February 4th. Don’t procrastinate! We’d rather you register now and not show up if plans change than wait until the last minute. Registration closes Feb. 3rd @ noon with no race day registration. Thanks for helping us keep these events running smooth and enjoyable for all.

We also have our volunteer slots open. Feel free to sign up for any of our 45 minute spots and help give back to your club. In doing so, all volunteers will be entered to win a $25 Altitude Running gift card. We couldn’t put on these races without you, so thank you!
